And We're Off

After many years of talking about it, and many months of preparation, we are finally ready to set off on our trip.

It took a lot of time and effort to work out how we'd take all the bikes, as these would be invaluable during our stays in the caravan parks and exploring townships. I settled on mounting two bike racks on the drawbar, and had a rack mount welded to the rear bumper.  With the two bikes on the draw bar, the spare tyre was relocated to the roof rack to ensure there was not too much weight on the tow ball. With all items loaded, full tanks of fuel, the level of the caravan and car were pretty true, meaning a weight distribution hitch would not be required.

Who knows what adventures we'll come across in the next 6 months, but we're sure going to enjoy the time away from our daily lives.

The kids are certainly excited, and can't believe the time has come to start our adventure.

Jackie is literally jumping with joy and beside herself.

The neighbours were out wish us luck, we will miss them; we're lucky to live on such an intimate street, with lovely neighbours.
