Fantastic Darwin - By Jai

Today we went to Darwin from Litchfield. In Litchfield we went to a caravan park in Wangi Falls, and made a lot of friends there.  I hope we get to see them again!! When we got to Darwin we went into the town and went to the shopping centre. Then we went back to the caravan park which is called Free Spirit, for a nice swim, in one of the three pools. I am glad we’re staying for  8 nights.

We went shopping AGAIN!! the next day and the girls got haircuts. When we finally got out of there we went to Mindil Markets for dinner! The next morning we went to Parap markets. Dad said that he loved it because of all the delicious Asian food. Then we walked all around the city. I thought that was pretty boring!

Sunset at Mindel Markets
The next day, we went to Darwin  Museum. It was pretty interesting. It was about cyclone Tracy, animals that live around Darwin, dinosaurs and art. There were lots of cool displays like birds, lizards, goannas, dragons, monitors, crocodiles and dinosaurs.

The mighty Wedged Tailed Eagle
I wrote a poem about the Wedge Tailed Eagle for school. Here it is:

The Mighty Wedge Tailed Eagle by Jai Phimsipasom

The Mighty Wedge Tailed Eagle soars up high,
With the greatest wing span, glides gracefully through the sky.
With razor sharp talons and a strong sharp beak,
This fearsome bird is not at all weak.
To trick its' prey, it flies up high into the sun,
Then swoops down fast and then again, the eagle has won!

On Monday we had to do some schoolwork, then we played with our friends all afternoon, their names were Finley, Kaia and Alyah. We first met them in Litchfield. We went swimming and bike riding, Finley and I got lost !

On Tuesday we did more school work, then went to Palmerston water park. It doesn’t have much there.

On Wednesday, we did more school work then we went to the wave pool, while dad went fishing. The waves were very strong ,they kept on pushing me over. The wave pool was awesome fun and very exhausting.

On Thursday, we did some more school work, then we went to the War Museum. The war museum was very interesting, it was all about when the Japanese attacked Darwin. There were lots of cool displays like army cars, tanks and guns. Then we went to the Mindil Markets and got some take away for dinner. Then we went to East Point and watched the sunset while we ate. It was very beautiful.

The next day we left Darwin. Darwin was very fun and interesting, I never got bored because there was always something to do!
